The Catcher In The Rye

Boston: Little, Brown & Co., 1951. First edition. Cloth. First edition of Salinger's classic tale of Holden Caufield and his boyhood angst. Book meets all requirements to be the first edition, first printing. The dustwrapper price is properly situated (i.e. not partially cut-off). A humble copy with some rubbing and wear to the black cloth covers, especially near the lower portion of the rear panel. The book is internally clean and free of writing, bookplates or other markings. The paper is still quite bright and fresh. The dustwrapper, priced at $3.00 on the front flap is soiled on the verso and shows several small chips and tiny tears at the edges. Please Note: The wrapper has been professionally restored with work visible on the verso. Outwardly, a bright and attractive copy, but with clear flaws upon closer examination. A modest copy of the first edition for those with a more modest budget. Housed in a very attractive hard clamshell box labeled at spine. Very Good / good +. Item #28447
